New Science at ASN Nutrition 2025
May 2025We’ve returned from a whirlwind few days at ASN Nutrition 2025 in Orlando, full of cutting‑edge science, valuable client meeting, presenting some of our research, and making plenty of new connections. Here are some of the highlights of the latest research presented:
- GLP‑1 Receptor Agonists:
Sessions revolved around the nutritional risks these patients face, such as insufficient protein, fiber, fluids and micronutrients, and the importance of addressing mental health alongside physical care. It was clear that, unlike post‑surgical patients, they receive minimal ongoing support, underscoring both a significant need and real opportunity to expand products and services. - Biological Age:
The Klemera–Doubal Method was highlighted as an algorithm to estimate biological age. This tool can be used in longer‑term intervention trials to show effectiveness of an intervention. - Appetite Regulation:
New research on plasma PYY levels offers deeper insight into satiety mechanisms and the signaling pathways that regulate appetite.
Our team values the continuous learning that happens at scientific conferences, an opportunity to share our work and gain insight from others in the scientific community. We look forward to DNSG in Ottawa next week!
